Social sarcasm at its finest! Roger Waters scathing attack on 'corporate dogs' was finely focused and frighteningly accurate. The song 'Dogs' is a masterpiece of insight portrayed in music. The other tracks on this excellent album reveal a side of human nature no one wants to admit is thriving. Even with all of it's darker insights the record still has a positive resolve and offers some hope within the scope of a controlling relationship or some stuff like that. Dark Side Of The Moon is incredible but Animals hits much closer to home.

G E N E S I S

This album was on my turntable a lot when it came out. I really love how guitarist Steve Hackett made use of strange tones and altered playing techniques to paint new textures within the lush English music. This was the first album after Peter Gabriel departed and the first with Phil Collins singing lead vocal. I think the album is a highlight of second generation Genesis with the songs Mad Man Moon and Entangled giving exotic life to the imagination. This era of Genesis wrote songs that they felt as free thinking intellectuals and not as the Record Company directed hit making machines they appear as of late. I feel that record companies, caught up in their greed have denied the artists of today free expression. If ever there was a censorship problem it's within the record companies of today. Perhaps that's why music is as distorted as it is today, shock value is the only expression that artists feel they have left. As consumers of music, we would be disillusioned at the "Dictatorship" of the record companies. They have killed the true art of music for money- oh well, what can you do? it's happening all around us with everything! Hopefully the internet can change all that back and allow a free world to advance instead of getting constantly cut down to their irresponsible greedy level! I like Capitolism but it's run-a-muck! Whew! Yeah Yeah!

Modern experimentalists, these guys have exceptional songwriting and production values. Seeds of Love is a album packed with sonic adventure. It's kind of like their Abbey Road as it was the last album with the team that made up TFF, and they broke up with bad vibes flying everywhere. Every song on the album sets a vivid mood and stirs the emotions. If you're going to have one TFF album make it this one! The CD 'Elemental' is also an awesome adventure as well complete with the bitter details of the split in song form!

Beautiful, exotic chill out music ::: journeyful, unpredictable and sublime

'Pictures of Earth & Space' ...My debut album for Larry Fast's Audion Recording Company. Signed to this cutting-edge electronic music label with other such luminaries as original Genesis guitarist Anthony Phillips, the masterful Wendy Carlos, and Larry's own Synergy releases. P.O.E.A.S. has a plush cosmic magic that's derived from explorations with advanced recording equipment - all generously warped into new uses. These are Grand, Majestic songs made almost entirely without the use of synths or keyboards. The music has a very distinctive, visual and vivid sonic character as one-of-a-kind song trips. That's what Larry dug about it!

Bartz's solid craftsmanship and provocative use of mixed guitar textures are the basis for instrumentals that sparkle and fill the entire sonic spectrum. His blend of acoustics and electrics throughout make an undulating soundscape that constantly undergoes organic changes. This harnessing of high technology is a breath of fresh air! -Tom Mulhern /Guitar Player Magazine.

"A stunning triumph of celestial electronics from master musician Bartz. Pictures of Earth & Space is a sci-fi masterpiece of New Age technology that is not to be missed by fans of leading synth giants like Wendy Carlos, Vangelis, Larry Fast, and Tomita. Adept on quite a variety of instruments, including guitar and his own invention "The StringStation," His CD is also a valuable spin for admires of progressive rock icons Yes, Genesis or The Moody Blues. The soaring, futuristic music of Bartz is an elegant debut effort well worth checking out". -Time and a Word Magazine- New York

"Bartz-part recording engineer, part guitarist- takes to the skies with this full bodied, robust musical romp. The space of this trip is not the synapse-snapping pull through the corridors of the mind, but a more participatory journey with all the energy and drama of science fiction. Bartz creates thick symphonic sound horizons, then leaps and flies from plain to plain on his strange instruments. This is a speaker cranker-upper affair that makes you want to jump in your convertible and blast through the countryside leaving sound trails from your 200-watt speakers!"
